Speech-language pathology provides support for speech, language, voice, and swallowing—for children, adolescents, and adults. Therapy is usually provided on an individual basis with a doctor’s referral, though it is sometimes offered in groups as well. It is particularly effective when patients, family members, and parents work together and do exercises at home. Small steps, big results.
